Submission Rules

  • all abstracts must be submitted online via the online Submission System
  • you need to create an account first to enter the Submission System
  • your abstract must be related to one main Category (bold) and one Subcategory as listed below* (In case no subcategory is listed your abstract must be submitted through the main category).
  • size limit: all in all 2850 characters (incl. space characters); divided into:
  • Introduction: 600
  • Methods: 800
  • Results/Discussion: 1000
  • Conclusion: 450
  • you strictly have to follow the scheme: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgement, References
  • you can add a maximum of two figures/pictures (jpeg, png) each with a limited size file of 2MB
  • Submissions as PRESENTING AUTHOR are limited to TWO (there is no limitation for co-authorship!)
  • you will be able to make changes on your submission until the submission deadline 4th May 2021
  • all abstracts will be acknowledged upon receipt (transmission report). If you do not receive a confirmation email please contact the helpdesk or the ESMI office
  • notifications on acceptance and type of presentation (poster/talk) of your abstracts will be sent out mid/end of June 2021
  • Application for the Young Investigator Award 2021 is possible throughout the submission process
