  • My motivation to candidate as ESMI Vice President

During the last Winter Conference TOPIM 2020 on "Immunity", we naively brainstormed how molecular imaging can play a role in conveying the science to the public, to help in combating fake news and vaccine resistance… How little did we know how the world was about to change.

I see a central role for ESMI as a bridge connecting scientists at different stages of their career, breaking boundaries between disciplines and supporting international collaborative efforts. Fostering such interactions is key to advancing research in most fields but particularly so in molecular imaging which is positioned at the intersection of Physics, Chemistry, Life Science and Medicine, Computation and Engineering.

With a focus on fostering interactions, I believe we should enhance ESMI’s conferences and workshops and develop novel platforms that would help enhance exposure of research and facilitate collaborations between ESMI members.
